The Department of Pediatrics and the Division of General Pediatrics at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, New Jersey’s oldest non-profit, non-sectarian hospital, is seeking full and part-time Pediatric Hospitalists. The position includes both clinical and teaching responsibilities on our Pediatric Inpatient Services, including the pediatric inpatient unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (with a pediatric intensivist) and the newborn nursery . The Medical Center, part of RWJ Barnabas Health, is the teaching site for the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center pediatric residency program’s 1st and 2nd year residents inpatient rotations as well as for 3rd year medical students from the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark and St. George’s University School of Medicine. Saint Barnabas Medical Center features the only Burn Unit and the largest pediatric kidney transplant center in the state. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has 55 licensed beds, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a 10-bed medical-surgical unit and the acute care pediatric unit is 33 beds. Pediatric sub-specialist support at the Pediatric Specialty Center is available in all areas including pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, urology, cranio-facial, hematology-oncology, infectious diseases, pulmonology, nephrology, endocrinology,rheumatology, cardiology and neurology.
