The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky is seeking a full time board certified/board eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join the Division of Hospital Pediatrics at Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington, KY. The ten faculty members of the Division of Hospital Pediatrics provide comprehensive inpatient care to over 4000 children annually. Clinical service includes covering a mix of teaching teams with residents and medical students, as well as an attending-only team. Clinical duties are restricted to the acute care environment; there are no delivery room or newborn nursery responsibilities. Along with clinical and teaching responsibilities, there are opportunities to participate in quality improvement, patient safety and family centered care. Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with prior experience. The ideal candidate will be energetic, team oriented, passionate about teaching and learning and willing to explore new methods of inpatient care delivery.
Kentucky Children’s Hospital is a 133-bed hospital within a larger adult hospital. We have a stand-alone pediatric emergency department, the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the region, a 44 bed Acute Care Unit, a 12 bed Progressive Care Unit, a 65 bed NICU and a 12 bed PICU that is an ECMO Center of Excellence for both neonatal and pediatric ECMO. Kentucky Children’s Hospital serves as the primary referral center for Central and Eastern Kentucky, with physicians on staff in every major specialty of pediatric care.
