Positioned at the core of one of the country’s foremost children’s hospitals, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's (CHOP’s) rapidly growing pediatric hospitalist program offers tremendous depth and breadth of clinical activities as well as the opportunity to participate in a wide array of educational, research and quality/safety programs. We seek to support a strong, life-long career trajectory for our hospitalists through mentorship, active involvement in a vibrant community of over 70 pediatric hospitalists. We are looking for hospitalists and potential hospital leaders with specific interest in acute inpatient behavioral health as well as rehabilitation. CHOP’s inpatient Medical-Behavioral Unit (MBU) is a 10-bed unit offering co-management between a general pediatric hospitalist and a child and adolescent psychiatrist for children and adolescents who require medical hospitalization and also have significant behavioral health needs, including autism, self-injury, depression, and disruptive behaviors. While working in the MBU, the hospitalist will partner with a psychiatrist to supervise nurse practitioners and physicians assistants who provide 24/7 front line coverage. The MBU interdisciplinary team also includes a dedicated case manager, social worker, psychologists, behavior specialists, and specially trained nurses. The rehabilitation Unit at CHOP is one of the foremost pediatric rehabs in the country. Housed within the CHOP main building complex, the 18 bed inpatient rehab unit cares for children with a wide variety of disorders including neuro-oncology, trauma, orthopedics, and other complex medical issues. The hospitalists partner closely with physiatrists, providing guidance and oversite to the team. The front line, 24/7 care is provided by nurse practitioners along with an experienced staff of nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists as well as other disciplines.
