University of Rochester School of Medicine and DentistryGolisano Children’s Hospital Rochester, NY – The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry/Golisano Children’s Hospital is looking for 1-2 pediatric hospitalists at Sr Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank to join an ever expanding and mature pediatric academic hospitalist division (10 yr old). Clinical responsibilities include the provision of hospital care to pediatric general medical patients including a newly initiated complex care service (using NPs); consultations and co-management of sub-specialty, surgical, rehabilitation and psychiatric pediatric patients. Required academic responsibilities include: (1) participation in the education of fellows (program in development), pediatric and med-peds residents, medical students and pediatric hospital medicine nurse practitioners, and (2) involvement in scholarly activities including clinical research and/or quality improvement projects. Administrative responsibilities are available as appropriate to the candidate’s expertise and may include opportunities as director of the newly initiated complex care service (using nurse practitioners) and/or director of performance improvement for the Children’s Hospital.
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester is nationally/ internationally recognized for its contributions to community pediatrics, pediatric basic, clinical and health services research, and for its outstanding residency program. With the new construction (2016) of an 8 story new facility, the Children’s Hospital has become the quaternary pediatric hospital of choice in upstate New York.
Candidates must have an MD/DO, degree and be BC/BE in pediatrics. Post–residency experience in inpatient pediatric care is preferred and candidates who have completed either a pediatric hospital medicine or general academic pediatric fellowship will be given preference. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Competitive salary commensurate with experience and academic level is offered.
