The Division of Hospitalist Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Floating Hospital for Children is seeking an experienced Pediatric Hospitalist to lead the next phase of development for one of our community hospital programs. This Site Director position is an outstanding opportunity to join an innovative, growing academic division of pediatric hospitalist medicine that provides a uniquely integrated model of community hospital medicine and tertiary care.
Our Community Hospital Site Directors serve as liaisons between our network of community hospital affiliates and The Floating Hospital for Children in providing high quality care for the children of Eastern Massachusetts. They are the leaders for our community programs and as such are encouraged to develop relationships with referring physicians, community hospital leadership, Emergency Department Physicians, obstetricians and other specialists. The Site Directors oversee QI activities, support resident education and identify opportunities for programmatic growth. They also serve as administrators for their programs and are actively involved in staffing, scheduling, recruitment and faculty development. Clinical duties include management of inpatient pediatric admissions, consultations for the Emergency Department and Community Pediatricians, and coverage of deliveries and Special Care Nursery patients, with available on-site back-up from board certified neonatologists. A portion of clinical time is also spent on the hospitalist service at the Floating Hospital for Children, our tertiary care hospital based in Boston. Successful candidates will have at least 3 years of clinical experience, be board certified in Pediatrics, possess outstanding clinical skills, have demonstrated leadership abilities and a strong interest in medical education, and must qualify for a faculty appointment at the Tufts University School of Medicine.
