The Neonatology Division, Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital/Case Western Reserve University [RB&C/CWRU] [Cleveland, OH], a tertiary care center, seeks an established physician scientist with proven funding track record to fill Briggs Endowed Chair in Neonatal Research. Basic research, led by a PhD research scientist, includes breathing neurobiology, pulmonary vasculature biology, mechanisms of intermittent hypoxia and airway reactivity. Division has a long-standing focus in clinical epidemiology and a nationally renowned longitudinal outcomes program. Faculty participate in medical student, resident and fellow teaching.
Neonatology staff is comprised of 17 FT BC neonatologists who provide clinical care in an award winning 82 bed state-of-the-art NICU. Clinical programs support pediatric CT surgery, iNO and ECMO. The Division has had continuous NIH funding for over 35 years, and has an ACGME-approved, T32 grant-funded fellowship program.
Requirements: Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine fellowship completion, board certification, strong research training with a proven interest in existing/complimentary research program, and sustained NIH and/or foundation funding. Faculty rank to be at the Associate or Full Professor level, commensurate with experience. Candidates desiring tenure must demonstrate national research recognition.
