The Division of Academic General Pediatrics at Lurie Children's Hospital and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time board certified/eligible pediatrician in our Section of Primary Care. Candidates will have completed an accredited pediatrics residency and preferably had additional training or experience relevant to academic general pediatrics and the care of children with complex medical conditions. Duties include providing primary care in a medical home to a panel of patients having a high proportion of children with special health care needs; supervision of residents in continuity clinic and attending on the general medicine inpatient service of a tertiary care children's hospital for patients followed at our outpatient setting; mentoring residents who have chosen the Primary Care and Community Medicine Area of Focus; medical student education in various settings, including primary care and inpatient pediatrics, with opportunities to participate in other aspects of the medical student curriculum. Participation in independent or collaborative clinical, epidemiologic, health services or other research is encouraged, as is time spent on advocacy on behalf of children and child health. The successful candidate should have and M.D./D.O. and, at minimum, meet criteria for Instructor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Salary is commensurate with academic rank and experience. The proposed start date is September 2017.
