The Division of Neonatology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM), pediatric hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, is seeking a full-time BC/BE pediatrician for a faculty position in the newborn nursery at the Wakefield and Weiler campuses. This individual will provide comprehensive, family-centered care for non-intensive, full term and late preterm newborns including admission and discharge physical exams, daily assessments and postnatal assessments for non-critical prenatal diagnostic findings or postnatal risk conditions, breastfeeding and other parenting anticipatory guidance and support. He/she will also provide consultative services to the private pediatricians and family physicians whose patients are cared for in the NBN; supervision and teaching of residents, medical students and non-physician professionals; collaborative practice with, and supervision of, neonatal nurse practitioners and physician assistants working on the Newborn Service as well as participation in Department of Pediatrics as Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor (commensurate with level of experience), in hospital and medical school activities related to education, quality improvement, research and teaching. NYS medical license is required. Competitive salary and benefits are commensurate with experience. Bilingual skills are highly desirable. The schedule is 4 days a week and every other weekend with dedicated administrative time.
The Division of Neonatology is comprised of 20 faculty members. Division faculty are actively engaged in medical education, quality improvement, advocacy and research.
The perinatal service at Montefiore Medical Center that includes a Level IV NICU and Level III NICU and provides neonatal care to over 6500 neonates annually. The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore is a 118 bed nationally ranked academic children’s hospital providing innovative inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care for children and adolescents. CHAM is part of the Montefiore Health System serving the Bronx, Westchester, Rockland and Orange counties in New York.
