MEDICAL DIRECTOR OPPORTUNITY- PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE
The Children’s Hospital of Greenville Health System University Medical Group is seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead and expand an established Pediatric Palliative Care team consisting of a pediatrician, pediatric nurse practitioner, nurse coordinator, chaplain, psychologist, and child-life specialist. Ideal candidate will be experienced in pediatric chronic pain management and /or certified in pediatric palliative care (preferred). The current program was established 4 years ago and is an in-patient consultative service with an average daily census or 15-20 patients. The goal is to expand to include out-patient services and a pediatric chronic pain center in the near future.
The Children’s Hospital includes a 12 bed PICU, 79 bed Level-3 NICU, and a dedicated Pediatric ER. With experienced doctors representing more than 35 pediatric specialties, GHS offers more comprehensive "whole child" care than many of the country's major medical centers.
GHS employs 15,000 people including 950+ physicians on staff. The system includes clinically excellent facilities with 1,662 beds on 7 campuses. We host 15 residency and fellowship programs, as well as one of the nation's newest 4-year medical education programs: University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville, located on GHS’ Greenville Memorial Medical Campus. We are a designated Level I Emergency Trauma Center and also have a separate research facility.
