The University of Washington School of Medicine seeks qualified candidates with proven collaborative leadership skills to direct the clinical, research, and educational programs as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Pediatrician in Chief of Seattle Children’s Hospital. Candidates should have an MD or equivalent degree, board-certification in Pediatrics, and demonstrate a strong clinical practice background, excellence in scholarship, a commitment to pediatric education and training, and administrative experience. The Department is an important partner with Seattle Children’s Hospital, Seattle Children’s Research Institute, and the Seattle Children’s Hospital and Research Foundation. Clinical care is provided at state of the art facilities within SeattleChildren’s Hospital and its facilities and satellite clinics spanning the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, as well as at the University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The Pediatric Residency is a 3-year ACGME accredited program with 120 residents. Clinical training is offered in a full range of subspecialties totaling 24 Fellowship programs and 88 trainees. The Department serves as the primary Pediatrics teaching program for a five state region that includes Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho.
