Kirkland and Everett, Washington. The Division of General Pediatrics & Hospital Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital/University of Washington is seeking a BE/BC pediatrician (MD or DO required) to join our pediatric hospitalist program in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
We have an opening for a Regional Hospitalist with clinical duties split between our affiliated community sites in Kirkland (EvergreenHealth Medical Center) and Everett (Providence Regional Medical Center). Our career hospitalists have diverse backgrounds and interests, and participate in a variety of quality improvement, patient safety, educational, and faculty development initiatives. Positions may be part-time or full-time at the Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level.
EvergreenHealth Medical Center (Kirkland) Our hospitalists provide primary coverage for the inpatient pediatric unit and well newborns. Hospitalists do not cover newborn resuscitations, as there is an in-house neonatologist at all times. Shifts are 24 hours, with call from home. Approximately 75 shifts per year is considered full-time. Hospitalists provide newborn instruction for third year medical students during their pediatric rotation.
Providence Regional Medical Center (Everett) Our hospitalists provide 24-hour in-house primary coverage for the inpatient pediatric unit, and consult services for the emergency department and pediatric orthopedic, ENT, and trauma/general surgery patients. During the day, our hospitalists back up the nurse practitioners who see our well newborns. At night, hospitalists provide overnight newborn coverage, but do not attend resuscitations. Day shifts are 10 hours; night shifts are 14 hours. Approximately 130 shifts/year (half day and half night) is considered full-time. Hospitalists precept third year medical students during their inpatient pediatric rotation, and pediatric PGY-2/3 residents with an interest in hospital medicine.
