The Medical College of Wisconsin and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin are actively recruiting nocturnist physicians to join our dynamically expanding group in hospital medicine. This position may be full-time or part-time. Opportunities to split time between Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Milwaukee location and our new community hospital partner Ascension Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints in Racine, Wisconsin, are available. Shared Medicine-Pediatrics hospitalist positions are also available and encouraged.
Nocturnist clinical responsibilities include working with resident team providing assessment and management of new inpatient admissions and supervise overnight coverage of patients on the hospital medicine team at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (no PICU, NICU/newborn or ED coverage). Full-time academic nocturnists average eight 15-hour shifts per month. Clinical responsibilities in Racine location include 24-hour shift coverage of inpatients and consultative services for emergency department patients, with neonatology coverage provided on site. Flexible scheduling options are offered. Candidates should be board certified or eligible in pediatrics and interested in an academic appointment; however, clinical-only positions will be considered. Candidates with inpatient pediatric experience in an academic setting are preferred. A competitive compensation package and academic appointment will be offered.
Hospital Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
Our section is comprised of an energetic group of 30 physicians with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, academic productivity, and medical education. In addition to providing clinical care, our team is engaged in a variety of educational, research, advocacy, safety and quality improvement projects. Our section is actively involved in training of medical students and residents in pediatrics, medicine/ pediatrics, emergency medicine and family medicine. Areas of academic interest include bronchiolitis, transitions of care, medical education, medication safety and quality improvement. Our program provides ample opportunity for growth and academic collaboration. Care is provided at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, a 306-bed pediatric hospital, with a large referral network.
