Academic Pediatric Hospitalist Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Johns Hopkins Children's Center (JHCC) is looking for one or two full-time faculty members to join our expanding division. This opportunity entails a faculty position at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, inpatient clinical work as a pediatric hospitalist, teaching medical students and residents, and academic time to help build and grow the scholarly work being performed within our division. The successful candidate(s) is(are) likely to have experience and/or fellowship training in the field of pediatric hospital medicine and a desire to develop a program of inpatient academic scholarship. Additionally, publications in medical education, QI or clinical research will be considered as will the potential to obtain external grant funding. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to receive a substantial amount of protected time to design, lead and publish academic work, to mentor others in the Division in growing and expanding their own projects, and, potentially, to design and direct a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship. Our timeline for a start date is flexible (i.e. PHM fellows graduating in the summer of 2019 are encouraged to apply).
Pediatric hospitalists have worked at JHCC for nearly 15 years and, in 2017, were transitioned into a standalone division within the Department of Pediatrics. As such, we are in the midst of an exciting period of rapid growth, development and innovation. This is an opportunity for an energetic physician to get in on the ground floor as we begin to build a world class academic division. Johns Hopkins is ripe with available resources: statistical support, a plethora of grant review mechanisms, budget assistance, and people who want to see you succeed.
