Valley Children’s Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest pediatric healthcare networks, is rapidly expanding to serve the needs of families throughout California’s Central Valley, one of the state’s fastest-growing and most geographically stunning areas. We’re seeking BC/BE Pediatricians to join the Hospital Medicine team as Regional Pediatric Hospitalists with our partner, Kaweah Delta. You’ll enjoy unparalleled proximity to California’s best natural wonders.
Just 45 minutes away from the main campus in nearby Tulare County, Kaweah Delta offers a 581-bed, eight-campus healthcare district with more than 300 physicians and 4,000 employees, nearly 1,000 of which are registered nurses. The current census is 8-9. Responsibilities include ED consults and normal newborn rounding. Physicians will work either 14 12-hour shifts or seven 24-hour shifts per month. This practice offers tremendous potential for professional growth and a competitive financial compensation package, including relocation and signing bonus.
Valley Children’s began as the vision of five women who saw the need for a dedicated pediatric hospital in the Valley. Now one of the largest pediatric healthcare networks in the nation, Valley Children’s Healthcare provides Central California’s only high-quality, comprehensive care exclusively for children, from before birth to age 21.
Our independent, nonprofit network offers highly specialized medical and surgical services to treat conditions ranging from common to the most unusual and complex at our medical facilities that include our 358-bed main children’s hospital and three neonatal satellite locations, as well as through partner hospitals, specialty care centers and primary care services. With more than 550 physicians and 3,000 staff, Valley Children’s partners with other providers and organizations throughout our 11-county, 45,000-square-mile service area to support delivering the best care to kids closer to home.
Dubbed “The Gateway to the Sequoias,” this is a welcoming and affordable area that offers an excellent quality of life. It’s one of the most productive agricultural counties in the United States, and exudes a small-town feel along with big-city amenities. Three U.S. National Parks -- Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon – all are located in the nearby Sierra Nevada Mountains, the highest mountain range in the contiguous United States. The climate is dry and sunny, with an average of only 26 days of measurable precipitation annually. The Valley Children’s network spans one of the most geographically diverse locations in the United States. Ideally situated in the heart of California’s Central Valley in one of the state’s fastest-growing and most beautiful geographic locations, the area is an outdoor lover’s paradise, offering everything from hiking, mountain biking and skiing to kayaking and fishing, to name only a few possibilities. Plus, it’s within one to three hours of the magnificent Pacific coast and Wine Country, is approximately 3 ½ hours from the San Francisco, San Jose and Los Angeles metropolitan areas and is a four-hour drive from Lake Tahoe.
