Faculty Position Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics University of Alabama at Birmingham
Job Description The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an outstanding clinical leader and physician investigator to serve as Director, Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, in the Department of Pediatrics. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive leadership and management of the Division's activities and have a significant role in advancing UAB's role in clinical care, research and education programs.
A strong history of academic achievement and a commitment to excellence in service, teaching, and basic and/or clinical sciences research are required. The successful candidate will have a national reputation in Development and Behavioral Pediatrics, reflecting a strong record of scholarly accomplishments, peer-reviewed publications, and extramural funding in research, leadership abilities, and a history of progressive administrative experience. In addition, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a record of interdisciplinary collaboration are desirable. The ideal candidate will qualify for an appointment at the Associate to Professor level with UAB and will be an MD, or MD/PhD who is licensed or eligible for license in the state of AL and BC/BE in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.
The Department of Pediatrics has nationally recognized expertise as well as well-established multidisciplinary programs. This position will provide opportunities for growth for divisional programs, as well as opportunities for collaborations with other nationally recognized programs within UAB.
