Texas NeuroRehab Center (TNC) provides complex medical and brain injury rehab, chemical dependency treatment for adults and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.
Texas NeuroRehab is currently accepting applications for a Registered Nurse- PRN for our behavioral unit. A RN will Provide direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Provide medical management and assessment of patients. Ensure environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population. Direct the implementation of medical management programs and ensure consistent carry-through. Provide task assignments to subordinates & monitor their performance of duties. Provide training & education to staff, patients, families, & others. Document patient care, ensure that data is accurate, & that it is included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates. Work with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu.
Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Must actively support the mission, philosophy, and goals for the hospital.
Must be able to communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues.
Ensure that medication & treatment are administered as prescribed. Documentation reflects the care provided.
Provide and direct milieu management, actively assists therapists, keeping safety foremost.
Document nursing care and treatment progression through timely & accurate chart entries & nursing care plan updates.
Ensure LVNs complete Nursing Care Plan updates accurately & on time. Sign LVN Care Plan updates. Follow through with all facility & statutory requirements.
Assess, direct, and intervene in crisis situations.
Actively participate in treatment team decisions, collect & include data in care plan updates, assess patient needs, and document / evaluate patient responses.
Model age, growth, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic communication in all interactions.
Exhibit regular and required attendance.
Maintain professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit program, and hospital mission / philosophy.
