The Section of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center in downtown Chicago is seeking a full-time neonatology hospitalist. We are looking for applicants committed to providing exceptional inpatient care to a diverse and complex population of patients. The Renée Schine Crown Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a Level 3 (highest IL designation), 60 bed (single roomed), state-of-the-art unit. We care for critically ill infants who are born at Rush and/or transferred in from network hospitals, from extremely preterm infants to those with complex surgical needs cared for prenatally by our Fetal-Neonatal Center.
The expectation for the neonatal hospitalist would be to care for a complex set of patients and work collaboratively with neonatologists, neonatal fellows, neonatal nurse practitioners, and pediatric residents. Responsibilities would include delivery room attendance and management, direct patient care, neonatal procedures, and night call.
Candidates must be Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics and may have fellowship training in Pediatric Hospital Medicine and/or Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Candidates will be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, commensurate with their experience and accomplishments.
