As a Pediatrician your are responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses. Routine check-ups and monitoring a child's growth and development from birth to adulthood. Pediatrician should be knowledgeable in regards to interpreting and implementing procedures including but not limited to EKG, spirometry, ABI, wound care, suturing, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, skin biopsy, etc. The Pediatrician should be open and willing to practice in a multi-professional team and provide standardized, evidence based and outcome oriented approach. The Pediatrician should be able to supervise mid-level providers, nurses or medical assistants under their team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
1.Examine pediatric patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.
2.Implement AAP guidelines and monitor major clinical outcomes.
3.Examine pediatric patients regularly to assess their growth and development and individual risk factors associated inherent to the patient, family or underlying conditions.
4.Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury in infants and children.
5.Advise patients, parents or guardians and the community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
6.Treat pediatric patients who have minor illness, acute and chronic health problems, and development concerns.
7.Coordinate record collection and maintain adequate patient information such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
8.Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
9.Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluated treatments as necessary.
10.Plan and execute medical care programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescents.
11.Plan, implement or administer health programs or standards in out-patient settings or communities for prevention or treatment of injury or illness.
12.Adheres to the standards and policies of the Organizational Privacy/Security and Compliance Programs, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, OIG guidelines, other State and Federal laws). This also includes reporting to the Board of Directors, Compliance office, Privacy Officer, supervisor or suggestion box, any unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices.
Education: Must have an active license in the state of Tennessee. Must possess Certification from the American Board of Pediatrics. BLS (Basic Life Support)/ALS (Advanced Life Support) required. No history with legal issues.
