C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at Michigan Medicine is seeking a BE/BC Hospice and Palliative Medicine Pediatrician to join our Pediatric Palliative Care Program, which is part of the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Position is full-time at an academic level commensurate with level of experience.
The Pediatric Palliative Care Program was established in 2005, and serves over 400 children with serious and life-threatening illnesses per year as well as partnering with local hospice organizations to extend that care beyond the hospital walls and into the community. The program has become a leader in PPC research, quality improvement, and education, including development of an interprofessional training model for end-of-life care and resilience. In addition, the PPC program extended its reach in 2018 by implementing a PPC service for children with medical chronic complexity. Our hospital is a tertiary care pediatric hospital with 348 private inpatient beds, which includes three ICUs, 4 general care units, and a large labor and delivery and MFM service. Our Palliative Care Pediatricians are actively involved in education, quality improvement, research, and service to the hospital, serving in multiple leadership roles within the hospital and department.
Responsibilities include: serving as the consulting attending physician on the Pediatric Palliative Care service, serving as outpatient attending for the Pediatric Palliative Care clinic, and supervision and teaching of medical fellows, residents and medical as well as interprofessional learners. We provide 24/7 home call divided amongst all partners.
