Academic Pediatric Cardiologist with expertise in Non-Invasive Imaging
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist to serve as a subspecialist in Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging to join its growing program. The Heart Center faculty includes a team of 13 full-time pediatric cardiologists with subspecialty expertise in Pediatric and Fetal Imaging, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Cardiac Intensive Care. In addition, the Heart Center Staff includes three Cardiovascular Surgeons.
The Heart Center is proud to be part of the only freestanding Children’s Hospital in New Orleans and Louisiana, and the top academic heart program in the state. It has recently received leadership commitment by a nationally-known pediatric cardiologist beginning in the spring of 2019. Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor (non-tenure or tenure tracks), and will be determined by the candidate’s credentials and experience. The successful candidate must have demonstrated excellence in non-invasive imaging including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, fetal echocardiography and cardiac CT/MR imaging. The candidate will be expected to interface with cardiac surgeons in the operating room with echocardiography expertise, to support maternal-fetal specialists with fetal echocardiography expertise and to collaborate with pediatric radiologists in CT/MR imaging.

Children’s Hospital resides in New Orleans’ historic and vibrant uptown area. Our campus is currently undergoing a $300 million physical revitalization and transformation, and at the same time expanding new multispecialty outpatient campuses in the city and region. The Heart Center program provides services for patients throughout the state of Louisiana, including 260 CV surgeries, 275 cardiac catheterizations, 5000 ambulatory visits, and 5500 ECHOs annually. There is a dedicated 20 bed CICU with dedicated in-house attending coverage and a recently completed state of the art hybrid catheterization suite.
Qualifications MD or MD/PhD or equivalent Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana before start date
