The Department of Pediatrics and Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a Director of Clinical Research. The ideal candidate should have the requisite experience and training to continue and expand a successful research career and have a strong record of scholarship with national recognition and extramural funding in clinical, translational, biomedical, or health services research. In addition to engaging in and publishing original scholarly work, the Director will mentor junior colleagues, fellows, and residents.
Protected time is provided, and research infrastructure needed for success is already present within the Department and Division. MD or DO candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of AL and be Board eligible or Board certified in Pediatrics. Ph.D. candidates with an appropriate research focus and track record in mentoring physician scientists will be considered. Academic rank/Tenure will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
