Yale Department of Pediatrics, Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, is recruiting a Pediatric Nutritionist to join a section of 10 gastroenterologists and 3 hepatologists. The candidate must have expertise in the clinical care of pediatric GI patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting. This physician should also be experienced in the care of children requiring parenteral nutrition and managing the nutrition of children with short bowel syndrome. Teaching medical students and pediatric residents is required as well as involvement in collaborative and independent research projects. The candidate will cover the inpatient service along with other faculty in the section.
Board eligible/certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology with an expertise in Pediatric Nutrition is required (fellowship in Pediatric Nutrition is preferred). Ideal candidates will have demonstrated interest and abilities in clinical care and education and will have excellent interpersonal skills. In addition, the candidate should have a track record in mentoring and educating residents.
Early to mid-career Pediatricians are encouraged to apply. Appointment as either an Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Yale School of Medicine is anticipated, based on experience and qualifications. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in-patient medicine in a beautiful coastal Connecticut town while also attending in a world-class pediatric department and children’s hospital.
