Newton-Wellesley Hospital, a community teaching hospital affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM), Partners HealthCare, and Massachusetts General Hospital for Children (MGHfC), is recruiting an outstanding BC/BE pediatrician to provide hospital care for children and newborns. Join a group of 18 pediatric hospitalists in a robust community hospital with a strong teaching mission. This position is 0.6 FTE, and includes primarily night and weekend coverage of the pediatric inpatient service, with occasional daytime pediatric rounding and weekend newborn nursery coverage. The hospitalist/nocturnist does not cover the emergency department. The hospitalist/nocturnist serves as backup to the 24/7 in-house neonatologist, who covers deliveries.
The ideal candidate will be a committed clinician-educator, and will provide high-quality and compassionate care while also teaching MGHfC residents and TUSM medical students. PHM fellowship is a bonus, but not required. Pediatric residents from MGHfC provide care on the pediatric inpatient unit and do elective rotations in newborn medicine and in acute care pediatrics. The NWH pediatric clerkship and pediatric sub-internship are consistently among the highest-rated pediatric rotations for TUSM medical students. Physician assistant students from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences rotate at NWH as well. NWH pediatricians offer a robust teaching curriculum to these students, including weekly simulations in the state-of-the-art Shipley Simulation Center at NWH.
