The Department of Pediatrics, Hasbro Children’s Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a senior level physician and faculty member to serve as
Chief, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology & Nutrition.
Faculty appointment will be at the Associate Professor or Full Professor rank in the Research Scholar or Teaching Scholar Track at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, contingent upon qualifications. The position is hospital-based, and the applicant will be expected to participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Pediatrics at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, which includes Residents in Pediatrics and Fellows in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition – as well as interdisciplinary teaching programs with other Divisions and Departments within the hospital and the medical school.
Requirements for the position include board certification in pediatric gastroenterology, strong clinical background in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology, excellence in patient care and teaching, and commitment to scholarly participation in the research and educational programs of the Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
The successful candidate will have an established record of research relating to pediatric gastroenterology, with an appropriate record of scholarly publications and achievements; and a national or international reputation for scholarship and leadership in pediatric gastroenterology, as evidenced by involvement in national or international committees and relevant professional societies. The incumbent will be expected to establish an independent investigative program, focusing on gastroenterology, hepatology or other related fields. It is expected that the incumbent will have time devoted to research or other scholarly activities with appropriate space, resources and protected time as justified.
The incumbent will oversee the administration and participate in the clinical aspects of the division, including the inpatient service and the outpatient clinics.
