OLYMPIA, WA. Full time Pediatric Hospitalist. We are seeking an individual that is committed to Seattle Children’s values of compassion, collaboration, innovation, integrity, excellence and equity. As part of our hospital medicine team, one would be providing clinical are at one of our four regional hospital medicine sites in the surrounding community. Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA contracts with Seattle Children’s Hospital to provide 24/7 in-house Pediatric Hospital Medicine coverage.
Clinical responsibilities include: inpatient management of pediatric patients on a general pediatric ward of 14+ beds, consultation from family medicine physicians and surgeons, ER evaluations and consultations, pediatric trauma support, attendance at high risk deliveries and care of normal newborns and neonates down to 32 weeks in the special care nursery. Subspecialty and surgical support is provided by local adult subspecialists, surgeons, as well as additional pediatric subspecialty consultation from Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle. Additional duties include active teaching of family practice residents from Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Residency Program, as well as both pediatric residents and medical students from the University of Washington School of Medicine. The program is supported by pediatricians and family practitioners though out the community. Candidates must be able to practice autonomously in a community hospital setting and have experience in stabilizing critically ill patients for transfer to off-site pediatric intensive care units.
