The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital (TCCRH) is seeking a pediatric pulmonologist to join our clinical team. The pediatric pulmonologist will provide direct care to a wide variety of inpatients and outpatients as well as provide supervision of Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (APRNs), pediatric resident education, and participation in organizational programs. The detailed essential functions are as follows:
Provision of direct care to the wide variety of inpatients at TCCRH
Direct involvement in reviewing and evaluating patient referrals
Consulting rounds on patient referrals (conducted in referral hospitals)
Inpatient consulting rounds (conducted at TCCRH)
Provision of direct care to pediatric pulmonology patients in outpatient clinic setting
Evaluation of new and returning patients
Diagnosis and management of typical and atypical diagnoses
Referral for diagnostic, consultative, or management services as indicated
Oversight of the Home Ventilator Program
Co-management of inpatient candidates for Home Ventilator Program
Outpatient clinic follow-up for outpatients in Home Ventilator Program
Central role in guiding program development and function
Supervision of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs)
Co-management of pulmonary patients
Participate in at least one hospital-based committee
Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) endeavors
Actively participate in Medical Staff activities
Educational offerings for staff
Complete administrative and clinical paperwork in a timely manner as according to policies.
The applicant will have completed an ACGME-accredited residency training program in pediatrics as well as successful completion of a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology. 2 years of post-graduate pediatric pulmonology medicine experience is preferred, but not required. The applicant must hold a M.D. or D.O. licensure in the state of Oklahoma and hold an unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer all drugs necessary or appropriate to the practice of medicine. The applicant will be board eligible or board certified (preferred) in pediatric pulmonology.
Procedures (i.e., bronchoscopy) will be performed at local acute care hospitals. Once hired, TCCRH will assist the applicant with the credentialing/privileging process at said hospitals.
TCCRH works closely with The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Department of Pediatrics. Faculty appointment with the Department of Pediatrics, section of Pulmonary Medicine, is an option and can be further discussed.
TCCRH offers a Monday-Friday, 0800-1700 schedule (with flexibility). Call responsibilities will be required, but subject to change as needed.
