The Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s), in partnership with Russell Reynolds Associates, announce a national search for the position of Vice President, Chief Medical Officer.
The Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s) is the first hospital devoted exclusively to caring for children in Orange County. Since opening its doors in 1964, CHOC Children’s has led the way in many areas of pediatric health care. CHOC Children’s has been steadfastly committed to providing the highest quality medical care to children. Affiliated with the University of California, Irvine, our regional pediatric healthcare network includes a state-of-the-art 334-bed main hospital facility in the City of Orange, and a hospital-within-a-hospital in Mission Viejo. CHOC Children’s also offers many primary and specialty care clinics, more than 100 additional programs and services, a pediatric residency program, and four centers of excellence – The CHOC Children’s Heart, Neuroscience, Orthopaedic and Hyundai Cancer Institutes.
Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Chief Medical Officer has primary responsibility for, and oversight of, the hospital’s Medical Staff, Physician Contracts, Quality Management, Patient Safety, Regulatory Affairs, Risk & Accreditation, and Behavioral Health. Furthermore, the CMO serves as a key contributor to the development and implementation of CHOC’s Children’s strategic plan designed to build a world class pediatric health enterprise.
CHOC Children’s invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Vice President, Chief Medical Officer. CHOC Children’s is partnering in this search with Charles Falcone, MD and Charles Kaler of Russell Reynolds Associates. Qualified candidates will: have earned an MD (or equivalent), be board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and currently be eligible for a medical license in the state of California.
