The Department of Pediatrics in Stony Brook Children’s Hospital seeks faculty for the Division of Neonatology at the Clinical Instructor Level.
Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Nursing, or completion of a course for a Nurse Practitioner and certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. New York State Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Minimum of one year of full time clinical experience working in a newborn nursery.
Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years of clinical experience working in a newborn nursery.
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) will provide direct care to select patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Stony Brook Children's Hospital and at network affiliate hospitals in collaboration with an Attending Neonatologist, as well as assisting in annually reviewing NNP protocols and instructing residents and NP students in DR resuscitation and NICU stabilization skills (e.g. NRP).
This is a faculty academic position at the Clinical Instructor level. Individuals will be selected on the basis of their training, clinical experience, research potential and their commitment to teaching. Faculty appointment will be commensurate with qualifications.
