Department of Pediatrics at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is recruiting an M.D./D.O. for an additional faculty member in Neonatology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate would join nine other Neonatology faculty members and ten NNPs. Primary clinical responsibilities are in the 45 bed Level III NICU of the regional perinatal center (average daily census: 39, >700 admissions annually). Additional responsibilities include coverage of local Level II nurseries on a rotational basis, engagement in academic activities (research, quality improvement, education), and both medical student and resident education. Our nationally recognized neonatal follow-up program provides developmental assessment through three years, oversees care of medically complex patients, and provides home nursing care for very preterm infants. This program is an integral part of the overall service provided to our patients and participation is a component of this position. Candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Neonatology.
