The Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine, seeks outstanding pediatric emergency physicians to join the section of pediatric emergency medicine at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. Our busy urban emergency department (ED) consists of an interesting mix of complex patient cases as well as the usual pediatric illnesses and injuries. The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio ED volume is approximately 70,000 visits per year. In addition, the hospital is designated as a Level III pediatric trauma center. Department operations are benefitted by APPs and scribes, while subspecialty support includes in-house hospitalists, intensivists and neonatologists.
Through partnership with CHRISTUS Health System and Baylor College of Medicine, the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio is the first and only freestanding, academic, not-for-profit children's hospital in our city and serves as a focal point for pediatric services throughout the community and the large surrounding referral area. Physicians interested in joining our section must be committed to education, collaboration and excellence in patient care. There are many opportunities to teach the pediatric, emergency medicine, family medicine residents, and medical students who rotate through our department. Our team is significantly involved in hospital-based quality and process improvement projects and patient safety initiatives. For interested faculty who wish to begin or continue clinical research, The Voelcker Clinical Research Center at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio is available to meet your needs.
