Cook Children's Health Care System has a great opportunity for a board certified/board eligible pediatric surgeon to establish a practice at their newest location in Prosper, TX opening July 2020. Cook Children’s is committed to securing a pediatric surgeon whose professional, social, and economic interests would lend themselves to a long-term, cultural fit within the institution, the medical staff, and the community. This successful candidate will have completed an accredited pediatric surgeon training program and be board certified/board eligible in pediatric surgery and able to secure an unrestricted Texas Medical License.
Cook Children’s Prosper Campus will be a state-of-the-art medical facility including multispecialty outpatient clinics, urgent care, and an ambulatory surgery center. In 2022, the campus will also open a free-standing children’s hospital that will include emergency services, medical/surgical unit, and operating rooms. The Prosper campus is surrounded by several primary care practices and it is anticipated the number of primary care providers will double in the area by 2022. The Prosper campus will also have several specialties to include GI, neurology, nephrology, urology, cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonary, ENT, H/O, surgery and sleep medicine.
The candidate will be responsible for surgical care at the Prosper Cook Children’s location with the addition of inpatient consultations once hospital construction is complete. The candidate will be responsible for call coverage with planned back up from community pediatric surgeons with some help and collaboration with the Fort Worth Cook Children’s pediatric surgeon group. It is anticipated the surgeon will interact with local hospital NICUs as well. Salary will be competitive and guaranteed for the first 2 years.
