Neonatology and Newborn Medicine Massachusetts General Hospital
The Division of Neonatology and Newborn Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking candidates for a full-time academic faculty neonatologist position with a focus on clinical expertise and innovation.
Mass General is an academic medical center affiliated with Harvard Medical School (HMS). The perinatal program includes approximately 3,700 deliveries/year and an active high-risk maternal-fetal medicine service and associated Level II Special Care Nursery and Level IV NICU with a combined capacity of 38 acute beds. MGH Division of Neonatology and Newborn Medicine includes a network of affiliated community nurseries in Massachusetts and New Hampshire along with a robust transport program.
We provide education to the fellows of the Harvard Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program and residents in the MGH Pediatric Residency Program. Academic efforts of the division focus on basic and translational research related to lung development, intestinal and neuronal injury. We are actively involved in perinatal clinical research and participate actively in NeoQIC, the Neonatal Quality Improvement Collaborative of Massachusetts.
Clinical responsibilities will include providing clinical care in the MGH NICU, MGH SCN, and at one of our affiliated community Special Care Nurseries. Clinical time commitment will be complementary to the new faculty member's academic and research efforts.
Requirements include an MD or equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in Massachusetts, and board certification or board eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Specific interest and expertise in perinatal epidemiology, population health, neonatal developmental follow-up, or medical simulation desirable.
Academic appointment as Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor at HMS will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, achievements and teaching responsibilities.
