The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, a 630+ bed institution, is currently seeking a full-time Hospitalist for our inpatient Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit.
Applicants are not required to be pediatric hematology/oncology trained. General pediatric trained or medical/pediatric physicians are welcome.. Hospitalists help provide care to pediatric and young adult patients admitted to the inpatient unit. They work in conjunction with the attending BMT physician providing the patient’s day to day care. Hospitalists work as part of a multidisciplinary team with nutritionists, pharmacists, social workers, care managers, child life, PT/OT and nursing.
The Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immune Deficiency Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is a national and international leader in innovative uses of blood and marrow transplantation renowned for expertise in transplant for non-malignant disorders. In the 20+ year history of the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Cincinnati Children's, over 2000 transplants have been performed, including the nation's first successful blood and marrow transplant performed as treatment for sickle cell anemia and for autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome. Research has led to the successful treatment of Fanconi anemia using alternative donors, as well as increased success with alternative donor transplants from many malignant and non-malignant conditions. The BMT program is a leader in transplantation for immunodeficiency and histiocytic disorders. There is a strong partnership between the BMT Program and other programs at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Stella Davies, MD, Ph.D is the director of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immune Deficiency Division at Cincinnati Children’s. Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is ranked as the third best children's hospital in the United States overall according to U.S. News and World Report in 2020.
