Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
The Section of Adolescent Medicine within the Division of General Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor on the Clinical Educator track to join an active program providing clinical care, research, education, and community outreach. Patients are seen at the 250-bed Holtz Children’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial Medical Center and the Batchelor Children’s Research Institute, as well as community sites within Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Responsibilities include: Providing inpatient consultations and outpatient clinical care for a diverse adolescent population in a large multidisciplinary health center; providing on-call duties shared with other members of the faculty; supervising and teaching fellows, residents, and medical students; performing basic, translational, and clinical research to develop publications and grant submissions; participating on committees and performing other academic faculty duties including community outreach, advocacy, and/or regional and national professional leadership.
Requirements: Candidates must have an MD/DO, board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, and licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida. Bilingual (English/Spanish/Creole) preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record and demonstrated clinical productivity in addition to research experience working on sponsored projects. Expertise working in a multidisciplinary setting for treating eating disorders (including obesity care), menstrual disorders, depression and anxiety, substance abuse, risk behaviors, chronic health issues, reproductive health, HIV prevention and/or treatment, sports medicine and/or transitional health care issues is preferable. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work efficiently independently and as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team. Experience in teaching expected. Program administration experience preferred.
