Pediatric Hospitalist Opportunity
Prisma Health -Midlands Department of Pediatrics is seeking a BC/BE pediatric hospitalist to provide care within our free-standing Children’s Hospital. The ideal candidate will be fellowship trained or have significant clinical experience within a Children`s Hospital. The Division of General and Hospital Pediatrics provides care and supervision of residents on the service. All subspecialists and private primary care pediatricians admit directly to the hospitalist service except for surgery and hematology-oncology patients.
The position is full-time non-tenure track and will include responsibility for teaching residents and medical students. You will have a teaching appointment with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine with rank and salary commensurate with experience. While primarily teaching clinicians, some faculty are engaged in research with infrastructure support.
The Department of Pediatrics has a record of academic achievement and provides education to medical students, physician assistant students, and pediatric and family medicine residents. Our pediatric residency has a total of 39 resident positions. The Department, along with our freestanding Children’s Hospital, presently provides 151,000 patient encounters annually with 8,000 admissions and over 32,000 pediatric emergency room visits. The Department has 18 divisions, is actively growing and has been recognized as the best teaching department for most of the last 30 years.
