The Department of Pediatrics and the Division of General Pediatrics at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, New Jersey’s oldest non-profit, non-sectarian hospital, is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join the Division of General Pediatrics. The position includes both clinical and teaching responsibilities in our pediatric inpatient unit, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the newborn nursery. The Medical Center, part of the RWJBarnabasHealthcare System, is the teaching site for the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center pediatric residency program’s 1st and 2nd year residents inpatient rotations as well as for 3rd year medical students from the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark. Saint Barnabas Medical Center features the only Burn Unit and the largest pediatric kidney transplant center in the state. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has 55 licensed beds, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a 10-bed medical-surgical unit and the acute care pediatric unit is 33 beds. Pediatric sub-specialist support at the Pediatric Specialty Center and Saint Barnabas Medical Center is available in all areas including rheumatology, allergy-immunology, infectious diseases, nephrology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, hematology-oncology and neurology as well as surgical specialists in pediatric general surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, urology, orthopedics and cranio-facial surgery. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics. A competitive salary and benefits package is included.
