Assistant/Associate Professor, Pediatrics



The Department of Pediatrics at Stony Brook Children's Hospital seeks a NICU Hospitalist at either the Assistant or Associate Professor Level.



To qualify for an appointment as Associate Professor the candidate must meet the School of Medicine's criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure.



Requirements include: MD/DO Degree, Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics. Eligible for medical licensure in New York State. Experience in residency education is preferred.



This is a NICU Hospitalist position which will include participation in the education of residents. Responsibilities include development of research programs, teaching and participation in patient care programs appropriate to a major university. Opportunities and excellent resources for research also exist.



The NICU Hospitalist will provide direct care to patients at Stony Brook Children's Hospital and/or at the Labor and Delivery Service and Nursery at Southampton Hospital.



This is a faculty academic position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Individuals will be selected on the basis of their training, clinical experience, research potential and their commitment to teaching. Faculty appointment will be commensurate with qualifications. Excellent resources for research and start-up funds are available. The position will be full time, faculty, academic (Assistant or Associate Professor).
