Pediatrics Northwest, P.S. is an established independent physician owned practice in the beautiful South Puget Sound of Washington State and we are seeking a Chief Medical Officer. Our practice consists of general pediatricians, ARNP’s as well as pediatric sub-specialists in allergy/immunology, hematology/oncology and pulmonology. We have four office locations between Tacoma, Federal Way and Gig Harbor, Washington.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with Pediatrics Northwest (PNW) is a highly visible executive who will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors, physician leaders, and other members of senior management. This position will partner and commit with us to ensure that the mission and values of the organization are always front and center in every aspect of decision making and service to the community. This position will work to create and reinforce an organizational culture which is based on transparency and encourages a high level of engagement from providers to meet clinical and operational milestones centered on quality and financial performance.
The CMO will provide ongoing counsel and advice to the CEO and the Board of Directors on provider matters and will facilitate, intervene and/or moderate all major provider-provider, provider-patient and/or provider-staff concerns in collaboration with other appropriate staff and management team members.
This role will:
Partner and collaborate with physicians and management team, facilitating teamwork and shared goals.
Leads the Quality Staff Committee in achievement of clinical outcomes and achieving best practice goals.
Ensures provider development plans and programs are implemented and maintained as required by regulations and/or company policy.
Integrates clinical care quality and management with nursing, operations, finance, and other members of management.
Reviews patient grievances and recommends and implements measures to address.
Examines existing medical care standards, protocols, and practices; revises and enhances where needed to put in place benchmarks to ensure that patients are receiving the highest quality of care possible.
Develops an ongoing review process to ensure quality of care across all clinical locations.
Implements Quality Assurance programs, including performance reviews for medical staff and a system of peer review.
Conducts regular chart reviews and audits on a spot-check basis in addition to, and as part of, ongoing Quality Assurance.
Hires, manages, and mentors physicians, recruits medical staff, as necessary.
Provides clinical coverage two days per week for practitioner coverage.
What is needed to be successful in this role:
Medical degree. Board Certification
Master of Health Administration (MHA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) advantageous.
Valid medical license.
10+ years clinical experience.
4+ years’ experience in a management role.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Electronic Medical Records Systems.
