You Will Be Responsible For:
Serves as resource for all patient placements within the hospital.
Maintains a professional, collaborative and congenial rapport with internal and external contacts.
Makes all patient placement decisions in accordance with patient diagnosis, appropriate unit criterion, patient acuity and patient location.
Initiates, promotes and/or participates in interdisciplinary collaboration regarding patient placement.
Identifies needs and operational improvement opportunities to improve patients’ access and bed turnaround.
Supports and promotes excellence in customer/guest relations.
Supports, promotes and participates in community service activities.
Serves as a single point of contact for all patient placements within the hospital.
Maintains communication with referring physicians and transferring hospitals regarding anticipated bed availability or access delays.
Evaluates all available heart hospital beds and develops contingency bed management plans with operational charge staff to ensure daily patients operations are not interrupted. Reports any occurrences of interrupted patient operations to director.
Responsible for patient placement operations within the Hospital to ensure that patients are admitted or transferred between units or hospital in a timely manner in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, and according to nursing care requirements.
Continuously re-evaluates patient placement requests and adjusts staffing and bed management plans accordingly.

Graduate of a school of nursing

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing
