Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) & Emergency Medicine Specialists of Orange County (EMSOC) seek board certified/eligible pediatric emergency medicine physicians to join our state-of-the-art freestanding children’s hospital and pediatric emergency medicine program. CHOC is a 279 bed regional pediatric tertiary care center with 24-hour, in-house pediatric critical care specialists, a pediatric mental health inpatient center, and all major pediatric sub-specialties available on call. In the emergency department physicians are supported by medical scribes, in person healthcare interpreters, social workers, spiritual services, child life, a mental health evaluation team, and allied health professionals including physician assistants and nurse practitioners. 
 
The Emergency Department has 35 beds with plans for additional expansion, manages a volume of over 100,000 pediatric patient visits per year, is Orange County’s only designated level 1 pediatric trauma center, and is a designated base station by Orange County EMS. Teaching responsibilities include supervision of residents of the combined CHOC Children’s Hospital / University of California, Irvine (UCI) pediatric residency program, UCI Emergency Medicine residency program, as well as physicians from neighboring institution’s Emergency Medicine and Family Practice residency programs.  Our PEM Fellowship program has received ACGME approval and will be accepting applications for Orange County’s first Pediatric Emergency Fellowship program to start in July 2023.
