The Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics is seeking a visionary academic leader to serve as the Division Chief of Pediatric Palliative Medicine. The successful candidate should have a strong background in academic leadership, research, and education. Experience should include evidence of effective communication, mentorship, and change management. Ideal candidates would be proven leaders with a strong national reputation in pediatric palliative medicine, possess a track record of research accomplishments, and be poised to lead the division to the next level of excellence.
We are a growing our multidisciplinary team including social workers, nurses, advanced practice providers, and physicians, providing comprehensive care services for children with life-limiting or life-threatening medical conditions. Committed to helping patients experience the best possible quality of life, we support families in medical decision-making, goals of care discussions, advance directives, and complicated pain and symptom management. Our team also oversees end-of-life care for patients in pediatric hospices.
Candidates must hold a DO/MD, MD/PhD degree, or equivalent
BC in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Possess a strong background and interest in clinical or translational research within pediatric palliative care
Evidence of strong leadership skills are important for this role, and can be reflected by a strong mentoring track record, program development expertise and/or successful research programmatic growth
Minimum of 5 years practicing experience at Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level.
