County of Santa Clara Health System (CSCHS), a large public teaching healthcare system, affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, is seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) BE/BC pediatric endocrinologist with the opportunity for full-time employment to work half-time in our Pediatric Urgent Care clinic.

About the organization
County of Santa Clara Health System (CSCHS) is the second-largest County-owned health and hospital system in California and is committed to improving the health of the 1.9 million people of Santa Clara County. Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), an agency of CSCHS, is comprised of three hospitals: Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC - a 731-bed central hospital), O’Connor Hospital (OCH - 358 licensed beds), and Saint Louise Regional Hospital (SLRH – 93 licensed beds). Providers in our health system also have the opportunity to use our integrated electronic health record (Epic), which brings together system-wide patient information. The Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) recognized SCVMC for achieving its highest level of success (Stage 7), based on our continuous innovation and optimization of our inpatient and outpatient EHR.

About the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology
Pediatric endocrinology is a part of a robust group of Pediatric Subspecialists, covering nearly all subspecialty areas of Pediatrics. The department has nutritionist and social work support as well as a weight management and healthy lifestyles program.
Our endocrinology team provides consultative inpatient and outpatient care for patients with a variety of endocrine disorders, ranging from growth problems, diabetes, obesity, disorders of thyroid, adrenal and pituitary among others. The current endocrine team consists of one full-time pediatric endocrinologist and a nurse coordinator.
About the Position
The preferred candidate possesses excellent clinical judgement, has strong bedside manner, effective communication skills and is a collaborator. Provider will work mainly at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center main campus in San Jose but will provide virtual support for affiliated hospitals at O’Connor Hospital and St. Louise Regional Hospital, as well as additional outpatient support services at our Gilroy clinic. Flexibility to occasionally work full time to provide 1-2 weeks of vacation coverage for division colleague is appreciated. This position also offers full-time employment to work half-time in Pediatric Endocrinology and half-time in Pediatric Urgent Care clinic.
