An excellent opportunity, clinically and financially, for a PT/FT BE/BC pediatrician to join a well-established, busy, and growing private pediatric practice consisting of seven physicians, (six full- and one part-time), six NPs, and one PA.  Highland Pediatrics (HP) is in historic Fall River, Massachusetts. We strive to provide the highest quality and most comprehensive pediatric care possible. We have weathered the COVID pandemic very well and are in a strong position to meet our mission.

We collaborate closely in a congenial environment, and we occupy inviting office space, much of which has been recently renovated.  We utilize a pediatric-specific EMR. We see a wide range of pathology and serve a broad spectrum of patients across all pediatric and adolescent ages as well as socioeconomic backgrounds from throughout southeastern Massachusetts and eastern Rhode Island. We have an active breastfeeding support program with numerous certified lactation consultants. We also have an established on-site behavioral health program, consisting of two psychiatric nurse practitioners, behavioral health therapists, a social worker, a full-time mental health coordinator, family navigator, school liaison, and other personnel to help patients. We are expanding our in-house lab capability to include most STAT labs.  A separate hospital lab as well as x-ray and pharmacy services are conveniently located in our building, along with dermatology, orthopedics, podiatry, and pediatric ophthalmology offices, while other pediatric subspecialists are only a 15-minute drive away.

We see our own newborns at our community hospital which has 24-hour level II nursery coverage for C-sections and complicated neonatal cases.  The obstetricians perform all circumcisions.  When necessary, we refer complex cases to Boston Children’s, Hasbro Children’s, and Mass General Hospitals as well as Boston Medical Center. All our pediatric inpatients, other than newborns, are managed by hospitalists.  We share call equitably and use a phone triage service for overnight calls.

Fall River is situated on the shores of Mt. Hope Bay in southeastern Massachusetts, not far from Providence and Newport, and less than one hour’s drive from Boston and Cape Cod. The region offers an abundance of activities such as boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and biking.  Beaches are nearby on the Atlantic coast, and skiing is available less than two hours north of the city.  Area communities have affordable housing and highly rated schools.

HP is located at Truesdale Health, formerly known as Truesdale Clinic--an historic organization consisting of independent medical practices of varying specialties where the physician tenants have the exclusive and unique opportunity to invest in the Truesdale medical office building on an equitable low-risk basis, which we offer to help subsidize.

The salary and benefits are competitive. They include a 401k with employer contributions and employee contributions to the legal limit. We also provide family health insurance if needed, We offer a potential signing bonus as well as the prospect of early ownership within 2-3 years. We encourage ownership and real estate investment, both of which are affordable opportunities that are designed to grow in value but are not available elsewhere in jobs with hospitals or networks.
