Community/Academic Pediatric Hospitalist with Leadership Opportunity
Seneca, SC
Prisma Health Medical Group-Upstate Department of Pediatrics seeks a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist with potential for Co-Medical Directorship, BE/BC in General Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine to provide care at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital, a satellite of Children’s Hospital.
Division Specifics:
Rural, full spectrum community pediatric hospital medicine program with a strong connection to a large academic tertiary children’s hospital.
Multidisciplinary team including experienced pediatric trained nurses and respiratory therapists, and a certified Pediatric Ready Emergency Room.
Candidates must be BC/BE in General Pediatrics. Experience and BC/BE in Pediatric Hospital Medicine preferred but not required.
Clinical time is spent providing inpatient care services to newborns, children and adolescents including admission, subsequent care and discharge with in-house 24/7 coverage.
Newborn care includes circumcisions, high risk delivery attendance and stabilization, management in level I and level II special care nurseries, down to 32 weeks gestation. Delivery room collaboration with Neonatologists in Greenville via Telehealth technology.
Clinical services extend to emergency room consultation and surgical co-management.
Additional opportunity to participate in precepting resident pediatric clinic patients with the local Family Medicine residency.
The position is supported by pediatric subspecialists at the regional Children’s Hospital via local telemedicine and satellite clinics.
Candidates should have an interest in teaching, as additional responsibilities include teaching and evaluating Family Medicine residents, Pediatric residents, and USC medical students.
The position will include a teaching appointment with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
