The Department of Pediatrics at The University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine is seeking a pediatrician to join the Pediatric Primary Care Clinic in Central Vermont as an Assistant Clinical Professor. The clinic is a certified medical home, providing a full spectrum of primary care services to a diverse population in the Central Vermont area, as well as community hospital care for newborns at Central Vermont Medical Center.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations for children of varying ages.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric medical conditions, ensuring optimal care for each patient.
Manage an average of 16-18 patients per day, adapting to case complexity and medical needs.
Teach residents and medical students
Collaborate effectively with parents or guardians to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive measures in a clear and empathetic manner.
Allocate time efficiently for 4 patient-facing 8-hour days and 1 administrative day with no clinical duties
Provide delivery coverage call for the hospital
Uphold the highest ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
Board certification in Pediatrics.
Valid and unrestricted medical license in Vermont.
Proven expertise in diagnosing and managing pediatric medical conditions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with young patients and their families.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
Flexibility and adaptability to a dynamic pediatric care environment.
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
Willingness to participate in delivery coverage call and pediatric call for the hospital. NRP Certification and experience are preferred.
