Litchfield County Pediatrics is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatrician to join our thriving, patient-centered private practice in Torrington, Connecticut. This position offers full-time commitment (four days per week); however, we are open to considering part-time candidates (three days per week). Ideal start time is between late 2025 and mid-2026, and we’re happy to accommodate the right candidate’s availability.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: Outpatient-only pediatric care, with no hospital coverage required. | Shared weekday call rotation typically occurs 3-4 times per month. | Shared weekend call rotation — approximately once every five weekends, with Saturday morning office hours. | Manageable patient load: average 14-22 patients per day depending on appointment type and complexity. | Utilization of a Pediatric-specific Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System with AI-powered scribe capabilities. | An engaged and positive team culture characterized by long-standing staff and high retention rates. | Support from a highly skilled and collaborative team, including welcoming front desk staff, experienced medical assistants, a responsive nursing triage department, a dedicated Medical Home Nurse for complex care coordination, and an on-site lactation consultant providing expert breastfeeding support.

Requirements
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. | Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program. | Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics. | Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of employment.
EXPERIENCE: Proven experience as a practicing pediatrician or new graduate with strong residency experience. | Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems. | Experience in outpatient clinical settings preferred.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: In-depth knowledge of pediatric diseases, developmental milestones, and treatment protocols. | Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills. | Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children and families. | Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. | Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. | Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct routine wellness exams and developmental assessments. | Diagnose and treat a wide range of childhood illnesses, injuries, developmental disorders, and mental health conditions. | Administer vaccinations and monitor immunization schedules. | Educate and counsel parents on nutrition, safety, and preventive care. | Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. | Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare providers as needed.
