Description
Attending Pediatrician, Newborn Nursery Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Boston, Massachusetts
The Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Department of Neonatology is seeking pediatricians for well newborn care. The Cochran Newborn Service (CNS) at BIDMC provides direct clinical care for nearly 5,000 well newborns annually. The multidisciplinary CNS team demonstrates a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, family education, and discharge readiness. Management of acutely ill newborns is triaged to our in-house Neonatology colleagues.
The Pediatrician will benefit from faculty membership in the BIDMC Department of Neonatology with access to colleagues, expertise, and resources of a large academic department. BIDMC is at the core of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH), a combined hospital and physician group network comprised of an academic medical center, the Harvard Medical School affiliated BIDMC, teaching hospitals, and superb community hospitals, as well as primary and subspecialty outpatient care. The BILH Neonatology Team, comprised of neonatologists, pediatricians, hospitalists and advanced practice providers, collaborates seamlessly to deliver exceptional care. Our robust network with 58 community-based intermediate level beds allows patients to receive care close to home while having uninterrupted access to more intensive support in our 62-bed level III NICU when necessary.
Appointment as an Instructor or Assistant Professor at the Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Applicants will be expected to provide clinical supervision and teaching of Harvard medical students during the newborn component of their core pediatrics clerkship. Successful individuals will have two years of newborn medicine experience with strong clinical and communication skills. An MD or DO and Board Certification in Pediatrics or Medicine-Pediatrics is required. Full- or part-time opportunity available.
Interested candidates, please send letter of interest and CV to: Amanda Sandford, MD Director, Newborn Hospitalist Program Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center [email protected]
