Description
Nemours is seeking a Dietitian for our Gastroenterology team in Jacksonville Fl.This full-time Registered Dietitian (RD) role provides specialized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to pediatric patients aged 018 with complex clinical needs. The position spans the divisions of Gastroenterology and Endocrinology. A core focus includes serving as an integral member of the interdisciplinary Celiac Disease team and spearheading targeted weight management MNT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Nutritional Assessment: Evaluate patient nutritional status and calculate nutrient requirements using current pediatric guidelines.
- Care Development: Formulate, implement, and adapt evidence-based nutrition care plans tailored to complex pediatric conditions.
- Patient Education: Counsel patients and caregivers on therapeutic diets and modified formulas while evaluating comprehension and compliance.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain documentation of assessments, care plans, and educational interventions within progress notes.
- Continuity of Care: Serve as a dedicated clinical resource, coordinate internal and external referrals as indicated, and manage ordered follow-up care.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in patient care conferences and maintain communication across the healthcare team.
- Professional Development: Stay current with clinical literature, attend educational activities, and maintain a professional portfolio per CDR standards.
Requirements
- Must have completed a minimum of a bachelors degree at a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and course work accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).Must have completed continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration and licensure. Masters Degree in Nutrition related field preferred.
- Must obtain RD certificate within 90 days of hire by passing the national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). Obtain Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist status through the Delaware Department of State: Division of Professional Regulation within 6 months of hire. Additional state Licensure in Pennsylvania, Maryland, or New Jersey may be required, based on the position. Additional specialty certification preferred (CDE, CNSC and or CSP).
- Hospital experience preferred; at least 2 years pediatric experience preferred.
