Connecticut Children’s at Waterbury Hospital seeking Neonatologist.
The Division of Neonatology at Connecticut Children’s has an opening for full-time, Board Certified/Board Eligible neonatologist to provide patient care at our NICU at Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, CT, as well as a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatologist.
Clinical duties include caring for infants in a 10-bed Level II NICU and newborns in the well-baby nursery. The unit supports a delivery service of approximately 1100 births per year. Coverage is provided by 24/7 advanced practitioners with at-home neonatology call. As part of the Connecticut Children’s, the unit is part of a state-wide transport service for infants requiring more advanced care.
Neonatologists will provide a high level of clinical excellence through providing safe, prompt, competent, collaborative, and evidence-based medical care. Successful candidates will be responsible to follow care guidelines and treatment protocols for infants with a variety of neonatal illnesses and conditions covering a broad spectrum of health issues. The Neonatologist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including attending, advanced practitioner staff, nursing and subspecialists to provide this care.
Waterbury, “The Brass City”, is a Naugatuck River town of approximately 110,000 located just 90 miles northeast of New York. The city is 30-minute drives to the UCONN School of Medicine in Farmington and a few minutes farther to downtown Hartford and Connecticut Children’s
Education and/or Experience Required for Neonatologist:
Education Required: M.D., or D.O. degree required
Active Scholarly Program with publication history is desirable
Education Preferred: Active Scholarly Program with publication history is desirable but not required
Experience Required:
Successful completion of residency and fellowship program as applicable
7 years experience
5 years Supervisory/Leadership experience
License and/or Certification Required: Active CT Physician license
Active DEA
Board eligible or certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine as appropriate.
