About the Opportunity:
Charleston Area Medial Center (CAMC)Women and Children’s Hospital, a member of Vandalia Health, is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our growing team in Charleston, WV. CAMC serves as a regional referral hub for complex pediatric care, providing endocrinology services in a small city with suburban/rural surroundings for children with all forms of endocrine disease, many of whom are underserved. Faculty in the Department of Pediatrics educate and mentor residents in an environment characterized by familiarity and collegiality. Research development is fostered in an atmosphere free of excessive academic pressure with full access to statistical support through the Institute of Academic Medicine. This is an exceptional opportunity to practice pediatric endocrinology in a unique environment that offers an ideal blend of clinical care, educational involvement, and research opportunity.
Position Highlights:
Join a well-established pediatric subspecialty group in a free-standing children’s hospital with robust clinical and academic support.
The team currently consists of one pediatric endocrinologist (MD), one nurse practitioner, and one physician assistant.
Comprehensive patient services and ancillary support, including access to diabetes nurses, nutritionist and on-site infusion center for simulation testing/medication administration.
Opportunity to teach and mentor residents and medical students through the CAMC Pediatric Residency Program as well as through CAMC’s affiliation with WVU School of Medicine and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine
Academic appointment through the Institute of Academic medicine, which offers extensive research support including statisticians, scientific writers, and data managers.
Collaborative, multidisciplinary care with comprehensive access to pediatric subspecialty services, including gastroenterology, nephrology, , cardiology, and intensive care services.
Participate in inpatient and outpatient care with shared call responsibilities.
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree with completion of accredited Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology
Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in West Virginia

30- bed General Pediatrics/Adolescent Unit

Outpatient Subspecialty Clinic and General Pediatrics Practices on campus
We are also home to the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine Pediatric Residency Program with 21 residents, and we are a regional campus for the WVU School of Medicine and the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine.
